Sense of Guilt

When you know you have done wrong you fail to realize it and move on. But when you seem to consantly think about it then you don't want to forget about it. Now that's a sense of guilt for you.

Rationality vs. Superstition

Anyone can be a burdern but it takes you to realize that you are who you are and no one can change that. You make you own rules and you obey your own rules and no one can tell you how to do it. Because only can prevent was going on with you.

Appearance vs. Reality

Basically this means that no one can judge anyone by their appearance, because in reality you are who you are and no one can change that.

Catch 22

1.Compare Orr and Yossarian's conversation on pp. 23-24 to the dialogue exchanged between Clevinger and Yossarian on pp. 16-17 and 19-20. What is the difference between the two conversations?
Yossarians none caring about his situation only the fact that he didnt want to go back to the war. Clevinger seemed more simpathetic about his past .

2.On p. 20, Clevinger tells Yossarian that he has a "Jehovah complex". Do you agree with Clevinger? Why or why not? There are several excellent examples of why someone may think this about Yossaian; what in the text supports this?
I am undecided about this question because he does but then he doesnt, the way he downs the people around him makes him seem like he isnt and the things he say makes you think he is.

Q&A

1. Some critics have said that Yossarian is one of the first characters in modern American literature to fight against a powerful system. Imagine yourself in his position. Would you make the same choices he did? Why or why not?
No, i would not have made the sames choices as Yossarian. because it would take a lot to not care about something so important with drastic consequences to face later if your caught.

2.. According to Joseph Heller, “The only freedom we really have is the freedom to say no.” Explain what you think he means by this statement; then debate its philosophical merits. Do you agree or disagree with him? Support your opinion with examples from historical and personal experience. For example, how does the above statement compare with the “just say no” catchphrase from the war against drugs?
I think this mean that no one should never say no or i can't because it means that you don't feel like being brother with yourself. And me finishing a track race is the same as saying no.

3. Analyze the impact of Heller’s choice of a satiric writing style on his novel. Would the book have been as effective if it had been written in a more serious manner? How might readers’ responses to the novel have been different? Would the book have the same meaning if the style were different?
Yes, i think the book would have been the same and have ahd the same meaning as before even if the style was to cahange or stay the same.

4.Think about the novel's use of setting and scene. What effect do the rapid shifts between the base and the hospital, or between Pianosa and Rome, have on the presentation of the story? What does each location seem to represent?
Each location seem to represent many different feelings and effects made in the story to show basic effort put into the since of the scene.

No man who sacrifices everything to education is even educated.

Bascially what this mean is that no man who is well eduated enough to sevre in his communtiy is good enough to sever as a helper at school or any other learing faclitie. For example, you can not put a mam down by telling him that he will never amount to anything, that's total disrespect and depression. However, a man of great wisdom will never let any human being of any kind destroy his man hood and faith. When a man is fighting then he is fighthing for a good reason and not just figting to be fighting. Finally, a man who sacrifices everything to education is every so much greatful and thankful.

What is a Pardox and Catch 22?

a paradox is a statement to which no truth value can be assigned.
catch 22 is simply a statement made to explain that a person has a choice to make.
